Budd Udell was born on April 4, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Early on, he had an interest in music and by high school he was studying the clarinet. He also formed a dance band which played at local events. He received a Bachelor's degree in Music from Indiana University in 1957. From 1958 to 1961 he was the Composer and Arranger for the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. From 1962 to 1963 he was the Assistant Director of Bands at Indiana University, where he obtained a M...
